A Case of Ramsay-Hunt Syndrome Probably Complicated by Large Dose of Prednisolone Administration


Abstract
A case of Ramsay-Hunt syndrome probably complicated by large dose of prednisolone administration are reported.
Clinically, adrenocorticosteroids had been used for the relieves of pain and pre¡þvention of postherpetic neuralgia in herpes zoster.
However, some investigators have been suggested that systemic corticosteroid therapy might increase the severity of the eruption or lead to dissemination of zoster.
55-year-old male patient observed by us prednisolone 120mg daily had been administered for his long-time continued pemphigus foliaceus, and Ramsay-Hunt syndrome were seemed to be complicated during steroid therapy.
This controversial result were discussed and literature were reviewed.
